VISAKHAPATNAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the central government aims for the welfare of the PVTG tribals. The real development means the welfare schemes should reach interior pockets of the tribal areas.
Interacting with the tribals of Araku Valley mandal through virtual mode arranged at government primary school in Kotta Bhalluguda in Araku mandal on Tuesday, the PM said that eligible PVTGs would get the welfare schemes.
He said Ekalavya Model Residential Schools are being constructed for quality education to the tribal student and implementation of PM Kisan for financial help to the farmers. He enquired about the implementation of government schemes to the PVTGs.
The PM promised to provide power supply to every house. Government has been providing 150 work days to the PVTG families by issuing job cards to the eligible beneficiaries under the employment assurance scheme. “Government has been providing PM Ujwal Yojana for free gas connections,

A tribal woman Swabi Ganga of Gadwaguda village in Araku Valley mandal gave a reply to PM’s query about PM Jan Man by saying that she came to know the amount of PM Janman scheme through the district officials awareness meeting. Ganga said that she applied for PM Awas Yojana for the house, PM Jal Jeevan Yojana for tap connection,

and she got all schemes.
Ganga further said that she got 35 cents of land and also patta under ROFR and Rs. 13,500 under PM Kisan and Rythu Bharosa. “ We have been cultivating coffee, pepper, and millet. We have been earning Rs. One lakh by grading the produce with the knowledge from Kaushal Vikas Sikshana through Van Dhan Vikas Kendras. We are getting a proper price for coffee. Now, we are grading it and selling through the online market for better profits,” Ganga said.

praised Ganga for speaking without script and explaining the government schemes. Ganga said that PM Kisan and VDVKs provided a platform for the PVTGs' self-employment and empowerment otherwise they would have continued as laborers. Tribal Welfare Department Hindi teacher Korra Ravi Kumar acted as translator to the tribals.
