SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. (PIX11) – Family and friends will be saying goodbye to 15-year-old Sabrina Villagomez Gonzalez Friday after she was killed in a violent crash in the Bronx.
It comes after the driver of the car she was in, 23-year-old Enrique Lopez, was charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in connection with the crash, according to authorities.
Villagomez Gonzalez was with three others in the car when it crashed into an oil tanker. A Brooklyn man sitting in the front seat, 21-year-old Gilvante Roberson, was also killed.
Another teenager, 17-year-old Alliyah Torres, is in critical condition. Both Villagomez Gonzalez and Torress attended Ramapo High School.
Classmates told PIX11 News that the girls were close friends.
"She had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul and she will dearly be missed," said a friend of Villagomez Gonzalez at a vigil held earlier this week.
Police said Lopez, of Far Rockaway, is also being charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
The funeral will be held at St. Joseph's in Spring Valley.
