From 'Pulp Fiction to 'Creed' Pluto TV brings free films with NYC cityscape as backdrop

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Summer in the city is getting even better as Pluto TV teams up with Brooklyn Bridge Park to bring you free movies with a view on the lawn at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

From July 11 through August 29, Pluto TV will screen a free film every Thursday with New York City's gorgeous cityscape as the background.

"As one of our most popular programs, Movies With A View has become an iconic and beloved summer to-do," said Nancy Webster, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Executive Director. "There's nothing else quite like it, and it's such a special experience for all to enjoy a gorgeous summer sunset and free outdoor film on the waterfront. We're extremely thankful to Pluto TV for joining us as a presenting sponsor this year."

This year's movie list has Academy Award winners, cult favorites, and family-friendly films.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite family film here. The options are Spy Kids, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and School of Rock.

The lawn opens at 5 p.m. Entry for all movies is first come, first served. According to the lineup website, moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket.
