FINANCIAL DISTRICT, Manhattan (PIX11) – If you’re looking for a way to warm up during the coldest month, how about visiting a New York City tea festival?
The Cha Cha Tea Festival offers a warm escape every Saturday and Sunday in February at 161 Water Street in Manhattan’s Financial District.
This two-floor experience recreates five traditional Asian tea houses that offer tastings such as chai, hojicha, lotus, oolong and pu-erh teas.

As visitors sip on tea, they’ll also get to sample sweet and savory Asian cuisine, from vendors that specialize in Chinese and Malay food, fresh cream cakes, Pakistani-style kebabs and more.
Throughout the month, the festival will also offer activities and events including mahjong, traditional dance performances, sugar paintings, lantern making and interactive exhibitions. Fans of Cantopop, Jpop and Kpop can also enjoy DJ sets in between food and tea tastings.

The Cha Cha Tea Festival is free and runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. until February 23. More information and a full list of programming can be found online.
