BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Four men are accused of killing a laundromat owner in Brooklyn last year, according to law enforcement sources.
Ronnie Butler, 46, Shaleek Riddick, 19, Louis Mercado, 48, and Diante Stinson, 20, were arrested Tuesday and charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD. Mercado was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Money Perkins, 37, was shot and killed in his business on Clarendon Street just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2023. police said. Authorities said the suspects got away with his gold chain in a violent caught-on-camera robbery. All four men pulled guns on Perkins, who tried to disarm one of the men before he was shot, according to police and surveillance video.
It was unclear if the men, who all live in Queens, knew the victim or if it was a random incident.
"I'm hurt. It don't make no sense what they did to my brother," the victims's sister previously told PIX11 News.
The woman had talked to her brother earlier in the day and he told her he was going to check on his shop and then go see her but he never came, she said.
Perkins was a husband and father of three children, including a 2-year-old toddler, an 8-year-old daughter who helped give his eulogy, and a 17-year-old son.
