Four MBBS students in HP suspended for ragging juniors

KULLU: Four senior

MBBS students

of

Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College

and Hospital, better known as Tanda medical college, in Himachal’s Kangra district have been

suspended

and fined up to Rs 1 lakh on charges of

ragging

their

juniors

.
According to a college official, nine junior students were ragged by the accused after calling them to their hostel in the evening.

It was alleged that the junior students were beaten and their clothes torn apart during ragging.
The victim students complained about the incident to National Medical Commission. Following an inquiry, the anti-ragging committee of the college decided to suspend the accused students belonging to 2019 and 2022 batches.
Two senior students were fined Rs 1 lakh each and suspended for a year. The remaining two were fined Rs 50,000 each and suspended for six months.
