NEW YORK (PIX11) – Flu season is officially here.
At least 13 states, including New Jersey, have reported high levels of the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Although flu levels in New York state are moderate, they're high in New York City, health officials said.
Flu cases in the Big Apple went up 90% last week, according to health officials. The sharp increase is expected to continue, they said.
Around 41% of adults and children in New York City have received a flu vaccine this season, health officials said.
It's not clear if this year's vaccine is a good match against the strains going around, the CDC said.
