Here’s everything we know about Flipkart UPI service:
Flipkart UPI: Details
As of now, we only know that Flipkart is set to launch the UPI service soon. The e-commerce platform hasn’t confirmed specific details about the official launch date.
As per the microsite that’s now live on Flipkart.com suggest that it will offer users with the option to scan and pay for any QR code. Also, users can make online payments, send money to friends and family like any other UPI app.
Moreover, Flipkart is also offering users some offers such as a discount of Rs 25 on 1st Flipkart order using Flipkart UPI. Users will also get 20 supercoins for 1st 5 transactions using the scan and pay feature of Flipkart UPI.
Flipkart UPI to rival Amazon Pay and other UPI apps
UPI services are offered by several apps and even banks. Most commonly used UPI apps are Paytm, Amazon Pay, PhonePe, BHIM and more. The Flipkart UPI service is set to rival them all with some added benefits like discount offers and more.
The biggest competitor is Amazon which not only rivals in terms of UPI service offered, but also as an e-commerce platform. That said, Amazon Pay also offers a lot more features and several other services like making bill payments, mobile recharge, flight bookings and more.
Whether or not Flipkart UPI will offer these services is still unknown, we expect to know more about it after the official announcement.
It is also important to note that Flipkart acquired PhonePe back in 2016 and has been using the service on its platform as well as a standalone UPI app to facilitate the UPI payments and other services like bill payments and more.
