Flaco's wings transferred to American Museum of Natural History

CENTRAL PARK, Manhattan (PIX11) – Flaco, the Eurasian owl that escaped the Central Park Zoo and later died, will be staying close to where he spent most of his life.

His wings and tissue samples have been transferred to the American Museum of Natural History. They will be used by scientists and artists, who can use the wings to develop educational materials.

The wings will not be on public display.
