Firearms, grenades found in Staten Island home during EMS call: NYPD

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Three inert grenades and several firearms were discovered inside a Staten Island on Memorial Day during a medical call, authorities said.

Emergency medical workers responded to a call at 91 Governor Road around 5 a.m. and found a 65-year-old man on the floor, police said. While attending to the man, EMS saw a firearm on the bed, authorities said.

First responders promptly notified the NYPD, and investigators issued a search warrant at 4 p.m., police said. Police are still combing through the house, and the man is expected to be arrested, according to police sources.

It is not clear if the man will be facing any charges.
