Bollywood's renowned choreographer, Bosco Martis has called out the Bollywood film industry for excluding
choreographers
' names in film or song promos. The matter caught the attention of actor
Hrithik Roshan
, who took on steps to address the issue and make the necessary change with his film, '
Fighter
.'
According to Mid Day, Hrithik swiftly took action, engaging in discussions with the director
Siddharth Anand
. Consequently, the YouTube version of the film's song, 'Ishq Jaisa Kuch', now appropriately credits the choreographer's team, including Bosco-Caesar,
Remo D’Souza
, and Piyush-Shazia.
The report further detailed that Roshan, a skilled dancer himself, was uncomfortable with his choreographers not receiving the acknowledgement they deserve.
Meanwhile, Bosco took to his social media handle to express his gratitude to Hrithik with a dance tribute. On Friday, Bosco shared a reel on Instagram where he and his team are dancing to the song ‘Ishq Jaisa Kuch’ from 'Fighter'. In his post, he wrote down his 'oath to the future of choreographers'.
"It’s been 22 years we've been doing choreography and still find it a struggle to have our names included in any promotional material for movies. Despite songs and dances being celebrated nationwide and worldwide, it's disheartening that nobody recognizes the choreographers until we actively promote our names," he wrote.
He went on to add, "Lately, we felt the heat when our names were absent from promotional material, whereas the music director was mentioned, and not the choreographer. I believe it's high time choreographers are celebrated."
'Fighter' will see Hrithik teaming up with Deepika Padukone for the first time on-screen. The movie will also star Anil Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover in lead roles. The aerial film will hit the big screen on January 25.
