FDNY lieutenant accused of strangling EMT during emergency call in Brooklyn: sources

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An FDNY lieutenant is accused of strangling an EMT during a call for an unconscious person in Brooklyn Saturday, according to sources.

Neal Francis, 47, was arrested and charged with strangulation on Saturday, according to authorities.

Sources told PIX11 News that police were responding to a scene at Schenectady Avenue and Dean Street around 5:30 a.m. An EMT got into an argument with Francis on how to handle a job, according to sources.

That's when the EMT was allegedly pinned by his neck against the ambulance by Francis, sources said. The EMT finished the job and checked himself into Kings County Hospital, according to sources.

Sources said Francis turned himself in.
