FDNY budget cuts reversed due to city tax revenues

NEW YORK (PIX11) – The largest fire department in the U.S. is getting a reprieve from proposed budget cuts due to better-than-expected city tax revenues.

The FDNY employs more than 11,000 firefighters and nearly 5,000 EMS workers. FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanaugh discusses what this budget reversal means for both the department and New Yorkers.
