ROCKVILLE CENTRE, Long Island (PIX11) -- A fight turned into a shooting on Saturday that led to a father and his two sons facing charges on Long Island, according to officials.
During a fight near 30 Old Mill Court, Kevin Cooper, 56, allegedly had a handgun in his sweater pocket around 5 p.m. Police said he accidentally shot himself, causing injuries to his stomach.
Kevin Cooper, Jr., 34, allegedly pointed a gun at a woman, 50, who told police she was in fear for her life. Police said he hit the woman with the gun, causing her to go to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Cooper Jr.'s brother Devin Cooper, 27, then chased after a man. Cooper Jr. allegedly pointed a gun at the man running but handed the gun to Devin, who allegedly fired two shots at the man running, according to police.
The men were arrested and charged with the following, according to police:
- Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon
- Reckless endangerment
- Criminal possession of a weapon
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Criminal possession of a weapon
Cooper Jr. was also charged with assault, according to police.
