They quickly became close, and Karan often spoke about his aspirations to make his own film, with Kajol, Shah Rukh, and Farida as part of his team. He shared the story of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with her, a film she still considers his best, not just because she was in it. The film's sensitive nature and Karan’s meticulous approach to writing every word and scene left a strong impression on her, and she was moved to tears during the narration.
