Fake maintenance workers steal $18K from home in Queens: NYPD

RIDGEWOOD, Queens (PIX11) -- Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a theft at a residence in Ridgewood Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred near Gates Avenue and Fresh Pond Road at around 2 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Two men posing as maintenance workers approached a man entering his home and displayed a firearm, police said.

They entered the residence, stole $18,000 and a gold bracelet, and fled the location in a dark-colored SUV, police said. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Gates Avenue.

There was also a 70-year-old woman inside. No injuries were reported, police said.

The NYPD released the following surveillance images of the suspects and the vehicle used.
