producer Rajan Shahi

An acclaimed producer such as you would make for a good talk show host. You produced one, never thought of hosting one?
Yes, in fact I would love to do a talk show. I always wanted to host a talk show but somehow if you see today's television scenario there is no scope of doing anything besides the regular saas bahu stories so yeah even the talk shows that we had I think are extremely typical. We don't have anything like the opera free show, which is something I would love to do. This is probably the first time, I am saying maybe YouTube gives me that platform to do it but yes I would love to do a talk show. Regarding Jazbaat, we did well with that show. I remember we put it on air within exactly 7 days with no promotion and in 7 days we put the show on-air. I would love to do something like Jazbaat again but I would want to host it because I think the way I would be able to interact with actors and my guest would be completely different and they would be more comfortable with me yes definitely but as I said I think YouTube will be a better platform to do that.
Leaving aside the actors you have worked with this far, name a few actors you would like to work with.

Well the actor I would love to work with definitely on the shorts is Mohit Malik. In fact, we had tried to work in the past. I think when the men are concerned I think Mohit is one of the finest actors we have and I would love to work with him. I like Surbhi Jyoti very much, I would love to do something with her. These are the two actors in particular that I would really like to work with in future.
Being a producer comes with a lot of challenges. The recent Rajan Shahi episode with two of his actors, do you think that was the right move on his part?

Well you see nobody actually speaks about the problem the producers go through. A producer also goes through hell sometimes with the actors and I think being the producer or being an actor, discipline and mutual respect is extremely important for any successful production house. I know Rajan sir very well and I had worked with him and I know he is a very reasonable person so I definitely go by his decision because I know you would never take such steps until or unless the case was really hopeless. Yes I definitely support him but at the same time, I think even the producers sometimes need to be very careful to make sure that the actor is extremely comfortable and the actor is made to feel at home on the sets and you know an actor is also given an hear to all his problems which in my production house I definitely try to do that. It has to be an environment of mutual love, mutual respect and mutual comfort. There is no one way it can not always be the producer's gain and it can not be actors' tantrums. It has to be a midpoint where the entire unit works like a family. I think every production house goes out of their way to make this harmony happen. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't but where the Rajan Shahi case is concerned I know the man I know the decision he must have taken must have been a very thought out and may be the

last resort

I completely go by his decision.
One drawback of the industry you personally feel you could do away with?
Oh !! one flaw is that the TV industry remakes and sinks the same story over and over again. I think I have said this time in time again that please let's make different shows the world is moving, people are growing the way people things are changing we can not relate our TV shows to kitchen politics and saas bahu and bechari ladki and Ameer ladka we need to raise our standards, we need to modify our stories. We need to tell different stories, we have to have different mindsets and I really really wish this happens soon because I am waiting to do different shows.
