NEW DELHI: India women’s
cricket
team captain Harmanpreet Kaur on Wednesday shared valuable insights into the mindset of her team as they prepare for the ICC Women’s
T20 World Cup
2024 during the Captains’ Day event at the Dubai International Stadium.
Emphasizing the importance of continuous learning in the game, Kaur remarked, “I think that is something we keep learning every day.
When you win, you might feel that you’ve achieved something significant. However, the next day could present new challenges and small mistakes. That’s part of the game.”
She also underscored the team's commitment to growth and improvement, acknowledging that learning is a never-ending process.
“And I think learning is something which is never going to stop, every day is a learning day. Every day I'm going and learning and getting experience from every game,” she stated.
The captain also credited her teammates for their hard work and dedication, stating, “People around me are helping me, and they are working hard to elevate our team to the level where we aspire to be.”
India are set to kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4 amid fierce competition in this year’s edition, which features 10 teams and a total of 23 matches held across two venues in the UAE.
The tournament will begin on October 3, with initial matches between Bangladesh and Scotland, and Pakistan facing Sri Lanka.
Six-time champions Australia will be a formidable opponent, seeking to extend their dominance after winning the last three editions.
