Sharing a note on the same, Eva wrote on her social media handle, "So much hate when he took on this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it. Despite all the #Notmyken ridicule and articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character and took it all the way to Oscars."
ACADEMY FACES BACKLASH FOR NOT NOMINATING GRETA GERWIG, MARGOT ROBBIE
Meanwhile, the Academy has been facing some heat for not nominating the two prominent women associated with Barbie -- lead star-producer Margot Robbie and filmmaker Greta Gerwig. Ryan even shared a statement regarding the same and said that while he appreciates the accolades coming his way, there 'would be no Ken without Barbie.'
Even former First Lady Hillary Clinton reacted to the Oscar snub of the 'Barbie women' and wrote, "Greta & Margot, While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you. You’re both so much more than Kenough. #HillaryBarbie (sic)."
The Greta Gerwig directorial was both a critical and commercial success. It was released alongside Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer in cinemas.
