Emraan Hashmi, in a recent interview, admitted to feeling envious of other stars. He added that there’s ‘always a battle’ in his head where he feels that he could have done a role better than the one cast for it. He also admitted that he does regret signing one particular film in his career.

In an interview with News18, Emraan Hashmi candidly expressed that he does feel jealous. “Envy engulfs me all the time. I’m envious of a lot of people and that’s a part and parcel of any industry. There’s always a perception of you and let’s face it, there’s always someone who you feel is better than you. And this feeling has got to do a lot with your temperament and the kind of person you’re,” he said.

He also added, “There’s always a battle in my head that a certain actor might have gotten a role but I deserved it. I know that I could’ve done a better job at it because it’s a s**t job that he did (laughs). There’s always this feeling. There’s this narcissistic side to you where you feel that you could’ve done something better than others.”

In the same interview, he opened up about whether he ever regrets doing a film. “I did a film way back. I wouldn’t want to take the name because a lot of creative people were involved in it. It was a film made with the best of intentions. It had a great script. However, it turned out to be this god-awful film (sighs)! I couldn’t even see it because the trailer itself was so cringe. It definitely wasn’t what I had signed up for,” he said.

Emraan Hashmi was recently seen in ‘Showtime’. The second part of the Disney+ Hotstar series has been streaming from July 12.
