HYDERABAD: The
Telangana government
on Thursday
transferred
eight officers. The government has given top priority to the energy wing and appointed four of eight officers' were allocated to the energy department. Interestingly some of the officers were shifted by the
Election Commission of India
(ECI) during assembly polls.
Senior IAS officer and
principal secretary
of Youth Affairs, Tourism and Culture department Shailaja Ramaiyer has been made principal secretary of health department.
She is wife of IT minister D Sridhar Babu. Shailaja, who is known as an upright officer, was sidelined in the BRS government and handled posts like textiles and handlooms department.
Present health secretary Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi has been posted as secretary of energy department also incharge of chairman and managing director of Telangana Transco and Genco. The CMD of Transco and Genco post fell vacant following the resignation of D Prabhakar Rao. While former excise commissioner Musharraf Ali Faruqui posted as CMD of TSSPDCL (Southern discom) and another IAS officer Karnati Varun Reddy was appointed as CMD of TSNPDCL (Northern discom) at Warangal. Both CMDs TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL Raghuma Reddy and Gopal Rao resigned for their posts after the Congress government came into power last week.
Another officer of 2014 IAS batch officer Sandeep Kumar Jha, who is in the IT, Electronics and Communications department, has been made joint managing director of Transco in place of Srinivasa Rao. With this, the state government completely revamped with new officers.
Amrapali Kata, who recently reported to the state government after completing her central deputation was appointed as joint metropolitan commissioner of HMDA and also incharge MD of Musi Riverfront Development Corporation. Municipal administration special chief secretary Arvind Kumar has been holding incharge of the post for the past few years. Her name was considered for the CMO keeping her experience in PMO, but she reportedly was reluctant to join the CMO due her AP cadre case pending with the court along with other officers. The state government is expecting a court verdict soon.
Director of Industries and joint secretary of finance D Krishna Bhaskar has been transferred as officer on special duty to deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The 2012 batch officer Krishna Bhaskar worked as collector of Sircilla district earlier. B Gopi, former collector of Karimnagar, was posted as director of agriculture, which is lying vacant and Agriculture secretary M Raghunandan Rao was holding additional charge.
