ED raids lottery king Martin and relatives in money laundering probe in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths on Thursday began searching the properties linked to

Santiago Martin

, including the houses and offices of him in Coimbatore, his son Tyson in Triplicane, and his son-in-law Adhav Arjuna in Teynampet, Chennai, in connection with the

money laundering case

it is already probing.
Simultaneous searches began at the office premises of the Martin Group of Companies in Coimbatore, while six-member teams visited Tyson's construction firm in Triplicane, as well as an apartment often visited by VCK functionary and Martin's son-in-law Adhav Arjuna on JJ Road in Teynampet. CRPF personnel guarded the premises where the ED sleuths carried out searches. However, Adhav Arjuna's office in the same locality and another house in Virugambakkam were left out of the operation.
ED earlier said that Martin and his associate companies and entities made unlawful gains with a corresponding loss to the govt of Sikkim to the extent of Rs 910 Crore on account of inflating the Prize-Winning Tickets claim for the period from April 2009 to August 2010.
Previously, ED carried out searches in properties linked to Martin in March this year.
