'Dunki' X review: 'Masterpiece' or 'boring'? SRK's film receives mixed response

'Dunki', featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, released in theatres today, December 21. Fans have been celebrating the film's release by bursting crackers, throwing confetti inside the theatres and dancing to dhol beats. After the first show, fans were quick to share their reviews on X. While some called it a 'masterpiece', others were slightly disappointed with the film.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 'Dunki' features an ensemble star cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani and Satish Shah among others in key roles. Soon after the film released in theatres, social media users lauded King Khan and Rajkumar Hirani for delivering an outstanding patriotic film.

One of the users hailed the film as 'family entertainer' and wrote, "Just caught Dunki and it's fantastic! SRK shines with an outstanding performance. A definite family entertainer!" Another echoed similar sentiments and wrote, "SRK's performance in #Dunki is phenomenal! This film is a guaranteed SUPER DUPER HIT! Don't miss it!" A third user shared an inside video of Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy where fans can be seen dancing on 'Lutt Putt Gaya.'

However, a segment of social media users were slightly disappointed with the film and shared how they had huge expectations from the SRK starrer. A user shared a video of the empty cinema hall and wrote, "Empty theatres bwaha #Dunki...SRKs DISASTER DONKEY #DunkiReview." Another user wrote, "#Dunki: TORTURE. Wasted 2 hour 40 min and my 260rs."
