Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' witnessed a good opening at the box office. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, was released in theatres on December 21. The movie, which marks SRK’s third release of the year, was affected by Prabhas' 'Salaar' release on the second day. Other than SRK, 'Dunki' also features Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani among others in key roles.
'DUNKI' BO COLLECTION
After delivering two back-to-back blockbusters 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' this year, Shah Rukh Khan's third film 'Dunki' released in theatres on December 21, ahead of Christmas. Despite being a non-holiday release, the film witnessed a great start at the box office. After earning Rs 29.2 crore on the first day, the Rajkumar Hirani film minted Rs 20.00 crore on the second day, as per early estimates. This brings the total tally to Rs 49.20 crore.
The highest occupancy was seen in Mumbai, reaching 46%, while Chennai followed closely at 40%. Kolkata trailed at 38.75%. Delhi, NCR recorded 33% occupancy rate. It seems that Prashanth Neel's 'Salar' release has affected the business of SRK's entertainer. However, with Christmas festivities and holidays all across, the film might pick up pace again.
