BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The driver involved in a Brooklyn crash that critically injured a 1-year-old child on Monday was possibly drunk, sources told PIX11 News.
The driver, a 28-year-old woman, was driving a Honda Accord with a 21-year-old woman and the child sitting in the passenger seat when she blew through a red light on Mother Gaston Boulevard around 7 p.m., sources said. She then collided with an Acura TLX driven by a 38-year-old woman headed east on Dumont Avenue, according to sources.
The driver of the Acura TLX may have had a suspended license, sources told PIX11 News.
The 1-year-old child was hospitalized with a skull fracture, according to authorities. The passenger who held the child on her lap was also taken to the hospital, along with both drivers, police said.
Both drivers were taken into custody and face charges, according to authorities.
