Driver injured when car smashes into tree during storm on Long Island: NCPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A driver was injured after their car slammed into a tree during the storm that brought heavy rain and winds to Long Island Wednesday, according to Nassau County police.

The driver lost control on Grand Avenue in Baldwin shortly after 5 p.m., police said.

They slammed into a utility pole and tree, which smashed through the car's windshield, according to authorities.

The driver was minorly injured, police said.
