Driver in stolen car crashes into tree in the Bronx, no arrests: NYPD

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A driver crashed a stolen car into a tree in the Bronx overnight and police were still searching for the thief Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD. 

A woman left her car running around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday near 163rd Street and Third Avenue and when she returned, the car was gone, according to police.

By 2 a.m., police spotted the car near FDR Drive and 116th Street and quickly lost it – only to find it unoccupied and crashed into a tree off a nearby exit, police said. 

Police had not found the driver by Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.
