Diamond Didi Zindabad tells the story of Diamond Mondal, played by
Dona Bhowmik
, a young woman with immense potential. As the daughter of a security guard and a maid, Diamond sacrificed her academic dreams to support her family by working at a shopping mall's food court. Inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's movies, she dreams of a better life for her family. When falsely accused of theft, she proves her innocence, quits her job, and sets up a successful eatery outside the mall. Hridaan Ganguly, played by Ayaan Ghosh, is a food vlogger from a wealthy family. While visiting Diamond's eatery, he becomes captivated by her spirit. When Diamond becomes a target of Hridaan’s enemies, they enter a forced marriage for her protection. And the story, from thereon, takes an interesting turn.
The promo of the serial shows Dona as the Diamond, one of the daughters in a middle-class household. While daydreaming about her luxurious life, Diamond mistakenly messes up the bookshelf. While everyone in the house scolds her for her inattentiveness, she assures her mother that one day she will become a richer person and all of them will live in a bigger house. Diamond’s brother scoffs at her aspirations, reminds her of her educational qualifications and failures, and then asks their mother to get her married. Diamonds rushes out of the house to report to her job.
Diamond waits tables at a posh restaurant nearby. A rich family visits the restaurant and Diamond is asked to be their waitress. She tries to impress the guests with her broken English but it backfires on her. She becomes the laughingstock of the restaurant and the manager sacks her from the job. Diamond challenges the manager that one day she will open a bigger restaurant and will have more customers than him. As Diamond throws her apron away, she notices that one of the members of that rich family is vlogging the whole incident. Diamond asks him why they never tell the story of common people. He asks her name and Diamond introduces herself. Diamond adds that one day she will become worth the meaning of her name.
