Former model Divya Pahuja was shot at point-blank range and a bullet was recovered from her head, according to a post-mortem report.

The post-mortem was conducted by four doctors, including two women doctors, under the direction of Dr Mohan Singh at the Agroha Medical College in Haryana's Hisar. After the post-mortem was conducted, the body was handed over to Pahuja's family.

The family members have taken Pahuja's body to Gurugram, where the last rites will be conducted.

On January 2, Pahuja, a 27-year-old former model, was allegedly murdered in Gurugram by Abhijeet Singh (56), the owner of City Point Hotel where the crime took place. Her body was found in a canal in Tohana in Haryana's Fatehabad district on Saturday, eleven days after the murder.

According to the police, Singh claimed that Pahuja was blackmailing him with explicit videos, leading to his alleged involvement in her murder. The police mentioned they were verifying Singh's claims and further investigation was on.

So far, the police have arrested five people in connection with the murder: Singh, Hemraj, Om Prakash, Megha Phogat, who allegedly assisted in hiding the murder weapon and Pahuja's belongings, and Balraj Gill, who allegedly disposed of the body. One suspect, Ravi Banga, who helped with moving the body in a BMW car, is currently on the run.

Pahuja was in jail for over seven years for conspiring a “fake encounter” of her partner gangster Sandeep Gandoli in Mumbai with Gurugram Police and rival gang leader Virendra Kumar alias Binder Gujjar on February 6, 2016.

At the time of Gandoli’s killing, Gujjar was in prison but had hatched the plan with the help of his brother Manoj and roped in the former model.

The Mumbai Police registered an FIR against five police personnel, Pahuja, her mother and others. The Bombay High Court granted bail to Pahuja in June last year.
