NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A Swiss Air flight avoided disaster at JFK International Airport last Wednesday when the pilot aborted takeoff, preventing a possible collision with other planes, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. The Swiss Air pilot aborted takeoff because four other planes were crossing the same runway further downfield, FAA officials said.
