NEW DELHI: Former India spinner

Harbhajan Singh

expressed his worries about the bowling unit of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which allowed Sunrisers Hyderabad to score the highest total ever recorded in the Indian Premier League at the

M Chinnaswamy Stadium

.
SRH was put in to bat by RCB, and the stadium was inundated with a barrage of boundaries as the team led by

Pat Cummins

surpassed their own record and amassed an unprecedented total of 287/3 in the IPL.

IPL 2024: POINTS TABLE | ORANGE CAP | PURPLE CAP
Every bowler who bowled their full four-over spell conceded more than 50 runs on the historic evening. Despite taking a wicket, Reece Topley gave up 68 runs. Yash Dayal conceded 51 runs, Lockie Ferguson took two wickets but gave away 52 runs, and Vijaykumar Vyshak also conceded 64 runs.

RCB have struggled with a lack of potency in their bowling attack throughout the tournament, which has contributed to their downfall.
"RCB difficulties are increasing. There were talks about their bowling line-up after the auction and they must be realising it now. They conceded the highest ever score in the IPL. I agree that the surface was meant for batters but someone needs to raise their hand and say, I will get you two or three wickets," Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.

RCB came close to chasing down the formidable total thanks to a valiant half-century by

Dinesh Karthik

and an explosive power play partnership between captain Faf Du Plessis and

Virat Kohli

.
Although the middle order struggled after the opening pair was dismissed, Karthik's blistering knock of 83 off 35 deliveries gave the home fans hope.
"The biggest positive about RCB batting is Dinesh Karthik. He has scored runs in every match," Harbhajan added.
