Dhanush's upcoming film, 'Raayan', which was scheduled to release in June, has now been postponed. The film will now release in July.

Dhanush's second directorial venture, 'Raayan', was initially slated for a grand release on June 13. However, it has now been postponed. On June 10, Dhanush announced the new release date of 'Raayan' with new posters in different languages. 'Raayan' will release in theatres on July 26 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Sharing the posters on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Dhanush wrote, "#Raayan from July 26 (sic)." In the poster, Dhanush looks intense and behind him is a painting of Kali.

'Raayan's' new release date comes two days ahead of Dhanush's 41st birthday.
Apart from directing, he has also written the story and acted in 'Raayan'. The film's ensemble cast includes SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali and Saravanan in pivotal roles. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will play a cameo in the film.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, 'Raayan' has music composed by AR Rahman. Cinematographer Om Prakash and editor Prasanna GK are part of the technical team.
After 'Raayan', Dhanush's third directorial venture, 'Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam', and director Sekhar Kammula's 'Kubera' are at different stages of production.
