, announced on Sunday that he tested positive for

Covid-19

on social media platforms and has quarantined himself at his residence in the city.
“I was feeling unwell after the assembly session in Nagpur; hence, I got myself tested for COVID-19, and the reports once again came back positive, I am not suffering much, but following the advice of doctors, I have quarantined myself for the last four days.

The weather is currently cold, and a new variant of the Corona virus has also come. Therefore, everyone should take proper care of their health and not panic,” he shared on the social media platforms.
This is the third time Munde has tested positive for coronavirus. Earlier, he tested positive in June 2020 and later in March 2021. The government has advised citizens to take precautions without panic due to the new variant of the coronavirus.
According to experts, the new variant is more transmissible, but it is not causing severe infections or hospitalisation.

Traveller from Europe tests Covid positive
A traveller from Europe has tested positive for the JN.1 Covid-19 variant in Guwahati, Assam. This is the first Covid case confirmed in Assam since November. The patient, a 28-year-old female, is currently under home isolation and her condition is stable. The state health minister has assured that necessary treatment has been provided to the patient and that the new variant is weaker than previous variants. While airports and railway stations in the state do not have screening facilities for Covid, specific cases suspected to be infected are being tested.
