You were so good in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar." Deven was pleasantly surprised that Shah Rukh knew his name and later learned that Shah Rukh had liked the film so much that he asked director

The film they worked on together was shot in 1994 but wasn't released until 2004. However, they reunited for Dunki, which premiered in 2023. Deven mentioned that Shah Rukh was warm and friendly during the Dunki shoot, and they even reminisced about old times. Initially, they addressed each other as "Shah Rukh" and "Deven," but Shah Rukh started calling Deven "Deven sir" on the second day.

When asked about it, Shah Rukh explained that everyone else was addressing Deven as "Deven sir," so he didn't want to be the odd one out. However, Deven insisted that Shah Rukh didn't need to call him "Deven sir" since they were old friends, and he wasn't calling Shah Rukh "Shah Rukh sir" either. Despite this, Shah Rukh continued to be warm and friendly throughout their interactions.
