NEW YORK (PIX11) -- President Joe Biden's nomination in the 2024 presidential election has split many top officials in New York.
While Gov. Kathy Hochul expressed her support for the president, other officials, including Lt. Gov. Anthony Delgado, have called for Biden to step down.
The leaders of the New York City Council sat down with PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino to share their perspectives on the matter.
"The discussion should be around defeating [former President] Donald Trump. Joe Biden has been 81 years old since last November. I understand the concern, but it is disappointing to see that we are not focused on what reelecting Donald Trump would mean for this country," said Councilmember Justin Brannan.
