Department of Education employee arrested for endangering welfare of child: NYPD

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Police arrested a New York City Department of Education employee on Monday morning.

Savitree Nerine, 49, a DOE childcare worker, was arrested after someone reported her for shoving a "toddler-aged" child. Nerine allegedly shoved the child multiple times while working, according to police sources.

Police from the 47th precinct in the Bronx arrested Nerine, who was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment, arrest records show.

Other information was not made readily available. An investigation is currently ongoing, police said.
