NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister
Arvind Kejriwal
on Friday heaped praises on water minister
Atishi
for her efforts in dealing with the current water crisis in the city.
Sunita, after visiting Rajghat, addressed party workers and conveyed her husband's message in which he acknowledged Atishi's decision to go on a
indefinite hunger strike
at Bhogal.
"When I watch tv, I see people of Delhi are suffering due to
water scarcity
.
It hurts me. I hope Atishi's 'tapasya' will succeed and Delhi people will get relief. I wish all the best to Atishi. May God protect her," Sunita said quoting the Delhi CM.
Noteworthy, Atishi began her indefinite hunger strike in Bhogal demanding more water from Haryana in presence of
Sunita Kejriwal
.
Prior to the hunger strike, Atishi, along with Sunita Kejriwal, minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, and other leaders, paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before proceeding to Bhogal.
Atishi claimed that Haryana had been releasing 100 million gallons per day less water to Delhi against its allocated share of 613 MGD for the past two weeks, affecting 28 lakh people in the capital.
