Delhi and its neighbouring states in north and northwest India remained under the grip of biting cold, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a dip in the minimum temperature by about 2°C over the next two to three days. Thick fog covered the national capital on Monday as visuals showed residents sitting by bonfires to keep themselves warm.
According to the morning bulletin by the Met Department, Delhi and most parts of northwest India are likely to get even colder in the forthcoming days.
The capital, however, witnessed a warmer Sunday as the minimum temperature settled at 6.5 degrees Celsius as opposed to 5.5 degrees Celsius. Sunday's minimum temperature was three notches above the season's average.
