CROTONA, the Bronx (PIX11) – A decomposed body was found inside a Bronx apartment over the weekend, police said on Monday.
NYPD officers were called to the home on East 179th Street, near Mapes Avenue in Crotona, for a wellness check around 2 p.m. on Saturday. The officers found a decomposing body, according to the NYPD. EMS pronounced the person dead at the scene.
The city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The NYPD did not provide additional details about the person.
