Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
is one of the highly awaited titles on the
Mac
and iPhones. First announced during the WWDC 2023 for Mac, and then at the
iPhone
15 launch,
Death Stranding
: Director’s Cut was originally planned for release before the end of the year. However, the developers, the 505 Games, has now informed that they require "a little more time" to bring the game to Macs and iPhones.
“Here at 505 Games Kojima Productions, we are excited to launch #DeathStrandingDC on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. We just need a little more time!,” wrote 505 Games, in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Stay tuned for a new release date in early 2024. We can't wait to welcome more Porters to DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT.”
During this year’s
Apple
worldwide developer’s keynote, Hideo Kojima made a surprise appearance, announcing that Death Stranding: Director's Cut for Mac. Kojima stated that the game will be made available later this year. Then, at the iPhone 15 launch, Apple made the announcement that the game will also be released for the two new Pro iPhones –
iPhone 15 Pro
and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple said that the title will make use of
A17 Pro
’s hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
Kojima’s Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is available pre-ordering on the Mac App Store for $40, and the expected release date of release is January 31, 2024.
Kojima has also said that his studio is currently developing upcoming titles that will be released on Apple's platform. The next game from Kojima is said to be the sequel to Death Stranding, titled Death Stranding 2, however there is no word if it will be available on APple platforms. Kojima is also collaborating with Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele for a horror title, OD.
