made headlines for her statement about 'Period leaves', the Minister of Women and Child Development, defended her "menstruation is not a handicap" remark, asking, "Why should a woman's menstrual cycle be known to her employer?" Irani told the news agency ANI on Thursday that by making menstrual leave mandatory, she does not want women to face discrimination and harassment at work.

Amid the serious discussion over women having the right to receive the paid leave at the workplace for menstruation or not.

took to her Instagram handle to share her opinion on the same as she opened up about her own struggles.
Dalljiet penned a long note sharing her struggles with menstruation pain, "I have had severe pain during my period, since childhood I felt different to other girls. My own sisters had bearable pain but mine would start one day before the bleeding, I get nausea, cramps, bloating and heat would ooze out of my body. I have had severe acne every single month during those days. So yes, Women deserve a holiday to sit in bed and get the heat pad and medicines they deserve."

She also shared an incident while shooting, "I remember shooting in crazy pain and discomfort. I would finish two packs of tampons in four days, that's the amount of bleeding that happened every single month. So yes, please give women three days to sit and do nothing, to relax and take rest."
Dalljiet concluded by sharing why it is necessary to approve leaves for women in regards to menstruation, "While at it, pamper them and let them know you know they are in pain and do everything to make them feel better. And yes, I showed it to multiple doctors. It eventually comes down to managing pain every month. Every woman is different and while some would be lucky to have normal periods, the rest are like me, who feel the pain every single month."
