Curfew relaxed for 4 hours in Balasore town

BHUBANESWAR: The state govt on Wednesday announced relaxation of the curfew in

Balasore town

for four hours on Thursday and partially restored

internet services

, following no fresh incidents of violence.

Ashish Thakare said the curfew will be relaxed from 7 to 11 am on Thursday so that people are able to buy daily essentials.

"We are constantly monitoring the situation, which is under control," he said.

Sagarika Nath said internet services will be partially restored on leased lines from 10 am on Thursday but not mobile data services.
Nath said police have arrested 35 people for Monday's violence. As many as 30 have been detained either for violence or for violating curfew norms. "We are verifying CCTV footage and examining various evidences to take further action," she said.
