JAIPUR: The walls of the
school building
had developed
cracks
, and
water seeped
in during the rains. While the school authorities had written several letters to the
education department
and
MLAs
in the previous months, all their pleas had fallen on deaf ears. A few days before TOI published its report on the school's condition, a section of the plaster had fallen off the ceiling.
During the inspection on May 2, additional chief block officer-II
Rajendra Kumar
Bansal and panchayat elementary education officer Sushma Pareek had found the school building unfit to hold classes. Bansal had said that
repair work
would begin after the model code of conduct was lifted. He also directed the school authorities to not hold classes in the damaged classrooms.
