BABYLON, Long Island (PIX11) — A couple accused of hiding body parts at several locations across Long Island have been arrested and are facing more charges in connection to the human remains found in February, according to officials.
Jeffrey Mackey and Alexis Nieves will be arraigned Monday for additional charges in connection to Malcolm Brown and Donna R. Conneely's murder, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney.
Additional information was not immediately available.
Police arrested Nieves and Mackey and two other suspects in early March. All four suspects are accused of scattering the dismembered remains of a man and woman at Bethpage State Park, Southards Pond Park and another wooded area in Babylon.
Less than an hour after being charged with concealing a human corpse, tampering with evidence, and hindering prosecution, all four suspects were released without bail.
Their release has sparked outrage among officials who blamed New York’s bail reform laws.
