THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A Bronx man died three months after having a medical episode during a mugging on a borough street. The incident was deemed a homicide, prompting a new police probe, authorities said Thursday.
Two armed men robbed Edgar Acevedo, 47, and a 37-year-old man near Grand Concourse and East Kingsbridge Road in Fordham at around 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 18, according to the NYPD. The suspects pulled a knife on the men and took their wallets and $110 in cash, police said.
Cops said the victims were not injured during the incident but Acevedo suffered a cardiac episode the same day and was rushed to the hospital. He died on May 5 and the medical examiner deemed his death a homicide, officials said.
The suspects took off after the incident and remained at large, as of Thursday.
