NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) -- A worker was found dead at a construction site in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday morning, according to the authorities.

Officers responded to a call of a worker injured in an elevator shaft at 10 Commerce Court just after 9 a.m., police say.

The worker was pronounced dead just before 10 a.m. and the incident is now under investigation, officials report.

According to a list from the real estate developer, 10 Commerce Court is set to be a luxury apartment building near Newark Penn Station.
