LUCKNOW: A day after Samajwadi Party chief

Akhilesh Yadav

said that he was yet to get an invitation for Rahul Gandhi's

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

,

Congress

on Sunday said the yatra's programme in the state would be finalised in a day or two and then shared with INDIA bloc member parties.
"Their participation would strengthen the alliance," said Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh in his post on X.

On Saturday, when reporters asked Akhilesh whether he would take part in Rahul's yatra, he replied: "Many big events take place, but we don't get an

invite

."
On Sunday, Ramesh tagged a news video showing Akhilesh's remark and posted on X that the detailed route and programme of the yatra in UP was being prepared and would be finalised in a day or two.

While the Congress has been facing the heat from fellow INDIA bloc members over the yatra, with TMC chief Mamata Banerjee staying away from it when it was passing through Bengal, in UP, its seat-sharing talks with SP have not been smooth so far.

Akhilesh has unilaterally announced 11 seats for Congress while SP has also declared a list of its candidates for 16 seats, including some constituencies like Farrukhabad and Kheri being eyed by the grand old party.

Earlier, the pre-poll alliance talks between the two parties for MP and Rajasthan polls didn't materialise. SP fielded its candidates on 69 seats in MP, denting the prospects of Congress on several of these seats.
Rahul's yatra at present is in Jharkhand and newly elected CM Champai Soren participated in it on Friday.
