BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Coney Island's Luna Park is set to reopen this weekend despite Saturday's rainy weather forecast.
The iconic park will reopen on Saturday followed by the traditional Coney Island Palm Sunday Celebration ceremony on Sunday.
The park will continue its tradition of christening the Cyclone ride with an egg cream soda. The first 97 guests to ride the Cyclone will enjoy a free ride and an egg cream treat courtesy of Luna Park.
"This year, we are thrilled to announce new attractions and upgrades to the park, showcasing our unwavering commitment to delivering a memorable experience in the heart of New York City," said President and CEO of Central Amusement International Inc. Alessandro Zamperla.
The park boasts over 50 attractions and games. New additions include the Electric Eden Raceway, featuring fully-electric go-karts, two new shops, and an arcade upgrade.
Admission to the park is free with rides starting at $4.
