BROOKLYN, N.Y. (P[IX11) --- The winter snowstorm dumped around 7 inches of snow in Coney Island on Tuesday, the most in New York City, according to the National Weather Service.
The Brooklyn neighborhood got the brunt of the storm while the other boroughs got well under 5 inches, including just 2 inches on Staten Island, according to the NWS.
The Parkchester section of the Bronx got the second-highest snowfall with around 4.6 inches while just over 4 inches fell at JFK Airport, causing hundreds of delays and cancelations.
Meanwhile, the storm dropped nearly a foot of snow in other parts of New York, including 11 inches in Westchester County and more than 10 inches in Rockland County.
The precipitation tampered off by Tuesday afternoon but cold temperatures are expected in the New York City area on Wednesday. The high will be 35 degrees with winds around 18 mph, according to the NWS.
