NEW DELHI: Batting for the first time in

IPL 2024

, MS Dhoni enthralled the crowd with his electrifying cameo against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. However, concerns loom over whether the former CSK skipper is playing the tournament with a knee injury, a question that is bothering his fans.
CSK posted a video on their social media platform X, showing Dhoni visibly limping as he made his way towards the dressing room, sparking deep concern among his fans.

The 42-year-old, who last played for India in 2019, had undergone a knee surgery last year. It appears that Dhoni has yet to fully recover from his injury.
Dhoni's unbeaten 37 off 16 balls did not prove to be enough as CSK fell short by 20 runs to suffer their first defeat of the season.
The margin of defeat for CSK's first loss of the season would have been bigger than 20 runs if it was not for Dhoni's unbeaten late assault at number eight.

Dhoni's cameo against the Delhi Capitals included a thundering six over extra-cover before he unleashed a one handed maximum over mid-wicket in the 20th over.
He also became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score 7,000 runs in

T20 cricket

.
As a designated wicketkeeper-batter, Dhoni has scored 7,036 runs. In 380 T20s, Dhoni has made 7,308 runs at an average of 38.06, with 28 half-centuries. His best score is 84*. His strike rate is 134.78.
